Comparisonpylotik vs ClickUp: which software to steer your projects and your commitments?
pylotik vs ClickUp: ClickUp brings tasks, documents, chat, time tracking and AI together in a single workspace, for teams of every trade. pylotik makes a different choice: steering contracts, projects and maintenance with clients, and managing teams, internal ones included (workload plan, time, weekly report, reviews). The two overlap on project management. They diverge as soon as you need to manage a team or bring the client into the loop.
In 30 seconds
All the work, or the commitment kept.
pylotik
An operational commitment management software: steering of contracts, projects and maintenance, with clients and suppliers, and team management. It suits organizations that steer teams, internal and external, and report on their milestones and their contracts.
ClickUp
An all-in-one productivity tool, organized in Spaces, Folders, Lists and tasks, with many views and AI features. It suits teams that want a single space for their tasks, their documents and their conversations.
The difference
ClickUp covers the team's work very broadly, billable time included. Contracts, fixed price, committees and formal client validation are not documented there as features. In pylotik, they are the central objects.
The audiences
Who each solution is for.
ClickUp
Teams of every size from the Free Forever plan up to the Enterprise plan.
Varied uses that the vendor documents: agencies, customer service, CRM, engineering, marketing.
Teams that want everything in one place tasks, documents, chat and dashboards together.
pylotik
Organizations that run projects in industry, construction, engineering, digital services or the public sector, and must hold a contract and a margin.
Project directors who run committees with their clients.
Organizations that chain contract, project and maintenance for the same client.
Team managers, internal teams included who follow workload, time and feedback.
Its strengths
Why organizations choose ClickUp.
According to the vendor's public documentation, ClickUp stands out for the breadth of what it covers.
Native time tracking with timesheets, billable time and, depending on the plan, timesheet approval.
Task dependencies on every plan, with a Gantt view.
A Workload view to visualize the team's workload and capacity.
Free, unlimited read-only guests on paid plans, and a quota of guests with permissions included per member.
File annotation (Proofing) that guests can use, and a public API with webhooks and native integrations.
In all frankness
Where ClickUp remains the better choice.
A single space for all the work
Documents, chat, tasks, AI meeting notes: ClickUp aims to concentrate a team's daily life. pylotik replaces neither a document tool nor a messaging tool.
Simple task lists
To track tasks without team management or a commitment to keep, ClickUp's flexibility is enough, and the steering layer of pylotik adds little.
A structure to shape
ClickUp's hierarchy is configured for each team. pylotik imposes a model (project, work packages, milestones, contract) that serves steering, not the free organization of tasks.
A very broad ecosystem of integrations
ClickUp offers an API, webhooks and native integrations. pylotik has neither a public API nor SSO; it connects to project ticketing tools such as Jira and to the ERP through a connector built to your needs; these connectors are optional.

The right use case
Where pylotik is a relevant alternative.
Where several needs cross on a single client commitment.
From billable time to the contract ClickUp marks time entries as billable; valuation, fixed price and budget are not documented there. pylotik ties the time entered to the contract: payment schedule on milestones for fixed price, monthly schedule for time and materials, then ordered, invoiced, paid and margin in the project financial tracking.
From the meeting note to the validated decision ClickUp's AI Notetaker extracts actions. pylotik submits the minutes to the client, who validates or refuses them with a reason, and keeps the register of decisions, actions and risks: project governance in full.
A client who takes part without a quota The client portal is free for external client organizations, whatever their number of users.
Team management, internal teams includedTeam steering brings together workload plan, weekly time entry, weekly report, reviews, leave and feedback whose author chooses the recipient. Nobody is rated, nothing is scored.
Client access
ClickUp's guests, the client in pylotik.
ClickUp's documentation distinguishes two cases. Read-only guests are free and unlimited on paid plans. Guests with permissions are included according to a ratio: on the Unlimited plan, five then two more per member; on the Business plan and above, ten then five more per member. Beyond that, each additional guest triggers a billed member seat. On the free plan, guests are free and unlimited, with full rights only. Guest clients access private Folders, Lists or tasks; no dedicated client portal or formal approval workflow is documented.
In pylotik, the external client organization has free access on every tier. It validates the minutes and accepts the interventions, without seeing your margins, your workload or your HR data.
An all-in-one tool does not stop steering from slipping away: the margin in a spreadsheet, the committee in a presentation, the validations in e-mails. pylotik keeps commitments, decisions, validations and reporting on a single data set, which the client consults on its side. E-mail goes back to being a way to talk, not a register.
Frequently asked questions
What we are asked about ClickUp.
Can pylotik replace ClickUp?
To steer projects and teams, internal ones included, yes: milestones, contract, committees, validations, workload plan and weekly report are native to it. To bring together documents, chat and simple task lists, no. The two can coexist.
Does ClickUp handle project billing?
According to its documentation, issuing invoices is not native: a QuickBooks Online sync, in beta on Business Plus and Enterprise, brings invoices back into ClickUp. pylotik does not issue invoices: it connects to the ERP, through a connector built to your needs, to send it the billing orders, and tracks the ordered, invoiced and paid amounts of each contract.
Does the client need a seat in pylotik?
No, if it is an external client organization: its access is free. A client team internal to your organization takes up a seat according to its role. The details are on the pricing page.
Where is the data hosted?
pylotik is designed and hosted in France. At ClickUp, according to its documentation, the choice of hosting only in the European Union is reserved for the Enterprise plan.
Does pylotik have a mobile app?
Yes: an installable web app, without going through an app store and without an offline mode. It is used in particular to enter time and to have an intervention signed.
